About Performance 21 Physical Therapy
We are a locally owned and operated company, providing Mobile Physical Therapy in the state of Missouri. Our top priority is to return you to your optimal health by providing exceptional one-on-one patient care in the comfort of your home, office or location of your choice. We believe all patients and clients deserve conscientious, one-on-one, timely service in all capacities.
Ryan Knuckles, DPT, BDN, ASTYM
Ryan Knuckles, DPT, BDN, ASTYM certified is a St. Louis native who grew up near Festus, Missouri. Ryan graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013 from Maryville University in St. Louis. Since receiving his license, he has provided treatment in multiple healthcare settings including; outpatient orthopedics, home health and skilled nursing facilities throughout St. Louis and Jefferson Counties. Ryan has focused his continuing education on complex spine and shoulder pathology, vestibular and balance disorders and manual spine therapy as he has earned certifications in Biomedical Dry Needling and ASTYM. Ryan believes that “the main focus in healthcare should be on the patient experience, by providing exceptional care and building lasting relationships.”
In Ryan’s free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, friends and family. He enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling.

- Physical Therapists are licensed medical practitioners who utilize mobility, physical exercises and manual techniques to aid in the recovery or prevention of injuries.We believe in treating pain and dysfunction at the source and are dedicated to providing highly skilled treatment and superior patient satisfaction.
- Our highly skilled therapists will provide a comprehensive evaluation to determine your specific needs, deficits and goals in order to design your individualized treatment plan. All necessary equipment for your treatment session will be provided so you can focus on achieving your therapy goals.

Abbie Short, DPT, COMT
Abbie Short, DPT, COMT grew up in Godfrey, IL. She pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Maryville University in St. Louis. She has mainly treated in outpatient orthopedic settings with some background in inpatient throughout Illinois and Missouri. Abbie has focused on building new evaluation and treatment skills through manual therapy to assess how the body moves differently from patient to patient. She values building strong relationships with her patients, because she believes trust and connection are key to helping people reach their full potential in physical therapy.
During her free time Abbie enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and 2 miniature bernedoodles. She enjoys playing games and being outside in her garden.
Justin Buck DPT, OCS
Regional Manager
Justin Buck DPT, OCS is originally from Peoria, Illinois, but now lives in St. Peter’s Missouri. He graduated with his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Maryville University in 2020. Justin has since gone on to become a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2023. He has spent the majority of his time providing care in the outpatient orthopedic setting, with primary focus on back pain, joint replacements, vestibular disorders, and sports rehab. Justin believes in not only working to get people back to pain free living, but educating them on how to remain this way in the future as well.
In his free time, Justin spends his time with his young son and wife, as well as on the golf course, working out, or trying out new restaurants.

Welcome to Performance 21 Physical Therapy where your patient experience is our top priority. We will verify your insurance benefits for you and give you an estimation of your financial responsibility as quoted by your insurance provider. In order to ensure a convenient scheduling process, we recommend when you call to schedule you have the following items available.
Gather the following:
- Driver's License
- Insurance Card
- Therapy Prescription
Missouri is a Direct Access state, which means you can receive physical therapy services without a prescription. All insurance rules and regulations apply.
